The product is taken orally. The tablets should be swallowed whole, without chewing, preferably in the morning between meals.

Geptral® tablets should be removed from the blister pack immediately before administration. If the tablets are anything other than white or white with a yellowish tint (due to a leaky aluminum foil seal), Geptral® is not recommended.

The recommended dose of Geptral® is 10-25 mg of ademetionine per kg of body weight per day.

The usual daily dose is 1-2 tablets per day (400-800 mg of ademetionine per day) and can be increased to 4 tablets per day (up to 1600 mg of ademetionine per day). The effect usually appears after 7-14 days of therapy and is maintained with continued use.

If there is no positive effect from the product therapy carried out over 2 weeks or the patient’s condition worsens, the patient should consult a doctor.

Hypersensitivity to ademetionine and/or any of the excipients included in the product;
Genetic disorders affecting the methionine cycle and/or causing homocystinuria and/or hyperhomocysteinemia (cystathionine beta-synthase deficiency, vitamin B12 metabolism disorder);
Bipolar disorder;
Childhood and adolescence under 18 years of age (the efficacy and safety of ademetionine have not been established).
