Combined herbal preparation. It has hepatoprotective, detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, cholagogic, antioxidant, and anti-anorectic effects. Facilitates improvement in the digestive process and nutrient absorption.

The hepatoprotective action of Liv. 52 is due to the antioxidant and membrane-stabilizing properties of its components. The medication increases the levels of endogenous tocopherols in hepatocytes and cytochrome P450. Liv. 52 stimulates the biosynthesis of proteins and phospholipids, promoting the restoration of hepatocytes and reducing degenerative, fatty, and fibrotic changes. It enhances intracellular metabolism.

The preparation regulates the level of plasma proteins by normalizing the albumin/globulin ratio. It normalizes plasma transaminase levels, cholesterol, and triglycerides, reducing manifestations of dyslipidemia. It decreases bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase levels and enhances the liver's glycogen deposition capacity.

Liv. 52 improves the colloidal properties of bile, preventing the formation of gallstones, and enhances the contractile function of the gallbladder.

It stimulates hematopoiesis.

In cases of alcohol-induced liver damage, the medication reduces ethanol levels in the blood and urine, increases acetaldehyde dehydrogenase activity, thereby reducing acetaldehyde levels, and prevents acetaldehyde binding to cell proteins, accelerating its elimination. By preventing the damaging effects of acetaldehyde on hepatocytes, the medication reduces the risk of developing "hangover" syndrome.

Use

Internal use, 15-30 minutes before meals.

As a prophylactic agent: take 2 tablets twice daily.

As a therapeutic agent:

Children over 6 years old: 1-2 tablets 2-3 times daily.
Adults: 2-3 tablets 2-3 times daily.
Specific conditions of use:

For acute viral hepatitis A, B, or C:

Children over 6 years old: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
Adults: 2 tablets 3 times daily.
Course of therapy: 2-3 months.
For chronic viral hepatitis B and C:

Children over 6 years old: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
Adults: 2 tablets 3 times daily.
Course of therapy: 6 months.
For anorexia:

Children over 6 years old: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
Adults: 2 tablets 3 times daily.
Duration of therapy: 2 weeks. If necessary, the course of therapy can be extended after a 2-week break.
As a hepatoprotective agent during anti-tuberculosis therapy and when using other hepatotoxic drugs, including for the prevention of anorexia during radiation and chemotherapy:

Children over 6 years old: 1 tablet twice daily.
Adults: 2 tablets twice daily.
Take the medication together with anti-tuberculosis drugs and other chemotherapy agents; duration of treatment corresponds to the duration of chemotherapy.
For alcoholic liver disease:

Initially, take 2 tablets 3 times daily for 1 month.
Subsequently, take 1 tablet 3 times daily for 6-12 months.
