INDOMETHACIN OINTMENT

It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, decongestant effects associated with non-selective inhibition of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which regulate the synthesis of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins. Eliminates pain, reduces swelling, erythema, morning stiffness and swelling of joints, and helps increase range of motion.

Indications
- Back pain due to inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the spine (sciatica, osteoarthritis, lumbago, sciatica).
- Pain in the joints (joints of the fingers, knees, etc.) due to osteoarthritis.
- Muscle pain (due to sprains, strains, bruises, injuries).
- Inflammation and swelling of soft tissues and joints due to injuries and rheumatic diseases (tenosynovitis, bursitis, lesions of periarticular tissues, wrist syndrome).
- Inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Intended for symptomatic therapy, reducing pain and inflammation at the time of use, does not affect the progression of the disease.

Use

Externally.

Apply a thin layer to sore joints or areas of the body, rub into the skin with light movements for adults and children from 12 years old, 2 - 3 cm (1 - 1.5 g) 3-4 times a day, for children from 6 to 12 years old, use 2 - 2.5 cm 2-3 times a day.

The total amount of ointment for adults per day should not exceed 15 cm, squeezed out of the tube; the daily dose for children (6 - 12 years old) should not exceed 7.5 cm.

The duration of therapy should not exceed 7 - 10 days.
The use of occlusive dressings is not recommended.

Warnings

Hypersensitivity to indomethacin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or other components of the drug (including dimexide); complete or incomplete combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent guliposis of the nose and paranasal sinuses and intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs (including a history); violation of the integrity of the skin at the site of intended application of the drug; pregnancy III trimester and breastfeeding period; children under 6 years of age.

Carefully
Concomitant use with other NSAIDs, hepatic porphyria (exacerbation), erosive and ulcerative diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute phase (including gastric and duodenal ulcers, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), severe liver dysfunction and kidneys (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min), blood coagulation disorders (including hemophilia, prolonged bleeding time, bleeding tendency, hemorrhagic diathesis); CHF, elderly age, condition after coronary artery bypass grafting, confirmed hyperkalemia, children's age from 6 to 12 years, pregnancy I-II trimester.
