The hepatitis C virus is an RNA-containing virus that causes the development of an inflammatory process in the liver. The disease is often asymptomatic, but prolonged infection can lead to liver failure, liver cirrhosis and cancer. Hepatitis C is common throughout the world in the general population, i.e. people of all ages and social classes are affected by the disease. Detection of HCV antibodies is possible after 4-6 weeks of infection. After treatment, antibodies persist for a long time, so the test cannot be used to confirm the effectiveness of treatment. Antibody detection can be used as a tool for the initial diagnosis and identification of asymptomatic patients, as well as for the retrospective diagnosis of hepatitis C. Biochemical, molecular biological and instrumental diagnostic methods should be used to confirm HCV infection.

Use

Application:
1) To collect a sample of capillary blood from a finger, you must:
- wash your hands with soap and water - massage your hand from forearm to fingertip
- thoroughly wipe the ring finger pad with an alcoholic napkin
- pierce the ring finger pad with a scarifier just away from the center of the phalanx
- wipe off the first drop of blood with a cotton swab - gently sweat rub your hand from hand to finger to form a drop in the puncture area
- take the resulting drop of blood without touching the skin into the disposable pipette included in the kit.
2) Before use, keep all components of the kit and test samples at room temperature for 30 minutes before opening. After opening the package, use the test cassette within 8 hours. 3) Remove the test cassette from the individual package. If necessary, label the test cassette with a name or number and place it on a flat, horizontal surface. 4) Fill the disposable pipette included in the kit with a 2-drop test sample. 5) Hold the pipette vertically, press the sample into the test cassette hole marked with the letter “S”. 6) Hold the dropper bottle vertically above the round hole test cassette, insert 2 drops of analysis buffer into the test cassette hole marked with the letter “S”.
7) Start the timer. After 10 minutes, evaluate the result. Do not interpret the results later than 20 minutes after taking the sample.
