Polyoxidonium for adults and children from 1 year 6 mg 10 suppositories

Recommended regimens for use of the drug
Application in adults
- rectally 1 suppository 1 time per day after bowel cleansing;
- vaginally for gynecological diseases 1 suppository 1 time per day (at night) inserted into the vagina in a lying position.
For treatment of adults:
• for chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases in the acute stage - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day daily for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
• in acute infectious processes and to activate regenerative processes (fractures, burns, trophic ulcers) - suppositories 12 mg once a day every day. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
• in gynecological diseases - suppositories 12 mg once a day every day for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
• in case of exacerbation of urological diseases (urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis) - suppositories 12 mg once a day every day. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
• in case of pulmonary tuberculosis - suppositories 12 mg once a day every day for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 20 suppositories. Then it is possible to use maintenance therapy with suppositories 6 mg 2 times a week, for a course of up to 2-3 months;
• in the complex therapy of oncological diseases during chemo- and radiation therapy - suppositories 12 mg daily 2-3 days before the start of the course of chemo- or radiation therapy. Then 12 mg 2 times a week, for a course of up to 20 suppositories;
• for allergic diseases complicated by infectious syndrome - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
• for rheumatoid arthritis - suppositories 12 mg every other day. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories.

For prevention (monotherapy):
• exacerbations of chronic foci of infection, recurrent herpes infection of the urogenital tract - suppositories 12 mg every other day
Course - 10 suppositories;
• flu and acute respiratory viral infections - suppositories
12 mg once a day. Course - 10 suppositories;
• secondary immunodeficiencies that occur due to aging - suppositories 12 mg 2 times a week. Course - 10 suppositories, 2-3 times a year
Use in children
For children and adolescents from 1 year to 18 years old, suppositories are administered only rectally,
1 suppository 6 mg once a day after bowel cleansing.
For treatment of children and adolescents from 6 to 18 years old:
• in case of chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases in the acute stage - suppositories 6 mg once a day daily for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
• in case of acute infectious processes and for activation of regenerative processes (fractures, burns, trophic ulcers) - suppositories 6 mg once a day daily. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
• in case of exacerbation of urological diseases (urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis) - suppositories 6 mg once a day daily. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;

• for allergic diseases complicated by infectious syndrome - suppositories 6 mg 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 suppositories;
For the prevention of children and adolescents from 6 to 18 years old (monotherapy):
• exacerbations of chronic foci of infection, recurrent herpes infection of the urogenital tract - suppositories 6 mg every other day.
The course is 10 suppositories;
• flu and acute respiratory viral infections - suppositories 6 mg 1 time per day. The course is 10 suppositories.
For treatment of children from 1 year to 6 years:
• in acute stage of chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases - suppositories 6 mg once a day for the first three doses every other day, then increase the interval between doses to 3 days. Course of treatment - 5 suppositories;
• in acute infectious processes and to activate regenerative processes (fractures, burns, trophic ulcers) - suppositories 6 mg once a day every other day. Course of treatment - 5 suppositories;
• in acute urological diseases (urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis) - suppositories 6 mg once a day every other day. Course of treatment - 5 suppositories;
• in pulmonary tuberculosis - suppositories 6 mg once a day for the first three doses every other day, then increase the interval between doses to 3 days. Course of treatment - 10 suppositories;
• allergic diseases complicated by infectious syndrome - suppositories 6 mg once a day every other day. The course of treatment is 5 suppositories.

• influenza and acute respiratory viral infections - suppositories 6 mg once a day every other day. The course of treatment is 5 suppositories.
For patients receiving long-term immunosuppressive therapy, oncological, exposed to radiation, with an acquired immune system defect - HIV, long-term maintenance therapy from 2-3 months to 1 year with Polyoxidonium® is indicated (adults 12 mg, children over 6 years old - 6 mg 1-2 times a week).

• hypersensitivity to azoximer bromide or any of the excipients of the drug;
• pregnancy, breastfeeding;
• children under 1 year of age;
• acute renal failure.
With caution
If you have any of the diseases listed in this section, consult a doctor before starting to take the drug:
• chronic renal failure (prescribed no more than 2 times a week)
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated (there is no clinical experience of use).
In experimental use of the drug Polyoxidonium® in animals, no embryotoxic and teratogenic effects, or effects on fetal development were detected.
Before using the drug Polyoxidonium®, if you are pregnant, or think that you could be pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy, you must consult a doctor.
During breastfeeding, before using the drug Polyoxidonium®, you must consult a doctor.
