Loperamide Akrikhin (10 capsules) is an over-the-counter drug used to treat diarrhea in adults. The active substance, loperamide, reduces intestinal peristalsis, which slows down the passage of contents and reduces the frequency of stool. The drug helps to normalize digestion and quickly cope with the problem.

How to use:

The drug is taken orally, without chewing the capsules, with water.
For adults with acute diarrhea, it is recommended to start with a dosage of 2 capsules (4 mg), then take 1 capsule (2 mg) after each loose stool. The maximum permissible dose per day is 8 capsules (16 mg).
For chronic diarrhea, adults are usually prescribed 4 mg per day.
For children over 6 years old, the initial dose is 2 mg, then 2 mg after each loose stool. The maximum daily dose is 4 capsules (8 mg). For chronic diarrhea, children over 6 years of age are prescribed 2 mg per day.
After the stool has returned to normal or if there has been no bowel movement for 12 hours, Loperamide should be discontinued.

Warnings:

The drug should not be used in acute intestinal infections, ulcerative colitis, intestinal obstruction and other gastrointestinal diseases. It is not recommended for use in the first trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Loperamide is also contraindicated in children under 2 years of age (in capsules - up to 6 years). Use of the drug in people with liver failure requires caution.

Maximum daily dose:
Adults - 16 mg (8 capsules).
Children over 6 years - 4-8 mg depending on body weight.

each act of defecation in the case of loose stools. The maximum daily dose is 4 capsules (8 mg).
In chronic diarrhea, children over 6 years of age are prescribed Loperamide-Akrikhin in a daily dose of 2 mg.
The maximum daily dose is 6 mg per 20 kg.

After normalization of the stool or in the absence of a stool for more than 12 hours, the drug should be discontinued.

Warnings

Hypersensitivity, intestinal obstruction, acute ulcerative colitis, diverticulosis,
