A decoction of 2 teaspoons of roots per 250 ml of boiling water, leave for 10 minutes, drink 3 times before meals. Dose for one day.

The root, crushed into powder, is lightly rubbed into gangrenous wounds.

Dried roots are often chewed like candy, and in China they are given to children to stimulate "muscle growth."
