Buscopan has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of internal organs and reduces the secretion of digestive glands.

Being a quaternary ammonium derivative, it does not cross the blood-brain barrier and therefore has no anticholinergic effect on the central nervous system.

Indications

• smooth muscle spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, stomach pain
• gastritis with high acidity
• peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum
