Topical use
Akriderm® should be applied in a thin layer to the affected skin area 2 times a day — in the morning and in the evening.

A different frequency of application may be prescribed by the physician depending on the severity of the condition. In mild cases, applying the cream once a day is usually sufficient; in more severe lesions, more frequent application may be required.

The duration of treatment depends on the effectiveness and tolerability of therapy and is usually 2–4 weeks.

If no clinical improvement is observed, the diagnosis should be re-evaluated.

Overdose
Acute overdose is unlikely; however, with excessive or prolonged use of the drug, chronic overdose may occur, accompanied by signs of hypercorticism: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible suppression of adrenal cortex function, and manifestation of Cushing’s syndrome.

Treatment:
Appropriate symptomatic therapy is indicated. In case of chronic toxic effects, gradual withdrawal of the product is recommended.

Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; bacterial and fungal skin infections; cutaneous tuberculosis; cutaneous manifestations of syphilis; chickenpox; herpes simplex; post-vaccination skin reactions; open wounds; trophic ulcers of the lower leg; rosacea; acne vulgaris; skin cancer; nevus; atheroma; melanoma; hemangioma; xanthoma; sarcoma; lactation period and children under 1 year of age.

Use with caution:
Pregnancy.

With prolonged use or application to large skin areas: cataract, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, tuberculosis.
When topical glucocorticosteroids are used, the following may occur: burning sensation, irritation, dry skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, pruritus, striae, miliaria, hypopigmentation, and perioral dermatitis.

With prolonged use or when occlusive dressings are applied — skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, miliaria, purpura, localized hirsutism, and telangiectasia.

When applied to large areas of the body, mainly in children, systemic side effects of glucocorticosteroids may develop (gastritis, ulceration of the gastrointestinal mucosa, hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible suppression of adrenal cortex function, and manifestation of Cushing’s syndrome).
