How to take, course of treatment, and dosage

Rectally. After spontaneous bowel movement or cleansing enema, the suppository is removed from the blister pack and inserted into the rectum.

The dosage of the product is calculated based on the age and body weight, according to the table. The single dose is 10-15 mg/kg of the child's body weight, administered 2-3 times a day, every 4-6 hours.

The maximum daily dose of paracetamol should not exceed 60 mg/kg of the child's body weight.

Duration of treatment course: 3 days as an antipyretic and up to 5 days as an analgesic. Extension of the course if necessary after consultation with a doctor.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Use with caution during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and in children under 3 months of age.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, neonatal period (up to 1 month).

With caution
Renal and hepatic insufficiency, benign hyperbilirubinemias (including Gilbert's syndrome), viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver damage, alcoholism, pregnancy, lactation period, genetic deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, concurrent use of other paracetamol-containing products.

Side effects
From the gastrointestinal tract: possible nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.

Allergic reactions: rash on the skin and mucous membranes, itching, urticaria, angioedema.

From the hematopoietic system: rarely - anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis.

With prolonged use in high doses, hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects (interstitial nephritis and papillary necrosis), hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, methemoglobinemia, pancytopenia may develop.

Interaction
Inducers of microsomal liver oxidation (phenytoin, ethanol, barbiturates, flumecinol, rifampicin, phenylbutazone, tricyclic antidepressants), ethanol, hepatotoxic products increase the production of hydroxylated active metabolites, which can lead to severe intoxication even with a small overdose.

Inhibitors of microsomal oxidation (cimetidine) reduce the risk of hepatotoxicity.

When taken concomitantly with salicylates, the likelihood of nephrotoxicity increases.

When taken concomitantly with paracetamol, the toxic effects of chloramphenicol are intensified.

When taken concomitantly with paracetamol, the action of indirect anticoagulants is enhanced, and the effectiveness of uricosuric agents is reduced.
