Iodine in the composition of Iod-active® is actively absorbed in case of iodine deficiency, and in case of excess, it is excreted from the body without entering the thyroid gland.
This is due to the fact that iodine is split off from milk protein under the action of liver enzymes, which are produced when there is a lack of iodine. When there is enough iodine in the body, enzymes are not produced and Iodine-active® is excreted naturally, without being absorbed into the blood.

Iodine is part of the thyroid hormones involved in the regulation of metabolism (including proteins, fats and carbohydrates), the functioning of the nervous and cardiovascular systems, sex and mammary glands, affecting the growth and development of the child.
